Height-adjustable desks for the whole office: how to order 4 to 10 workstations at once
When you buy height-adjustable desks for a whole office, the details of any single desk matter less than whether the desks fit, can reach a power supply and work together. Below are eight decisions worth making before you order, with a checklist at the end that you can attach to your enquiry. The same desk for everyone?
Yes. It makes sense to order all staff desks with one frame and one top size. You then only need spare parts for one model, a desk can be moved to another spot and still fit into a new row, and when someone new joins, you simply order the same model. The office also looks consistent.
A standard frame does not mean every desk has to be identical. For OCCO pro, the catalogue says “100 different combinations”. The frame comes in three colours: black (RAL 9005), white (RAL 9016) and grey (RAL 7045). The model stays the same, while the top and colour can vary. According to the catalogue, the OCCO pro frame width can be set from 1100 to 1800 mm. We will state in the quote which top suits your frame. Prices for OCCO desks are given in the quote.
Narbutas Motion DOA140 is listed in three top sizes (140, 160 and 180 x 80 cm) and the legs come in three colours. The catalogue price as of 23 September 2026 is from €949 + VAT.
If someone needs a larger top, for example for three monitors, order them the same model with a wider top.
How much space do 4 to 10 desks take?
The size of the desk itself is simple: the Motion DOA140 top is 140 x 80, 160 x 80 or 180 x 80 cm. You also need space around the desk. Behind it, leave enough room to push the chair back and for someone else to get past.
For the total floor area, a good starting point is the assumption used in the OCCO Circular rental calculator: an average of 10 m² of office space per employee. For a six-person office, that comes to about 60 m². This is a planning assumption, not a standard, and the actual layout depends on the shape of the room.
The safest approach is to draw the desks to scale on a floor plan. You will then see before ordering whether everything fits and where the walkways will be. You can also send the plan with your enquiry.
Individual desks or desks in rows?
Each height-adjustable desk moves independently. When one person raises their desk, the desk next to it stays down. So don’t push side-by-side or facing desks right up against each other: a moving top must not catch the neighbouring desk. Each desk also needs its own cable route. The cable from one desk must not run over another desk.
A desk screen works well between facing desks. Desk-mounted panels are listed in the catalogue under acoustic panels. Power and cables: what happens when the desk moves?
Every height-adjustable desk needs a socket for its motor. On top of that, you need sockets for the computer, monitors and chargers. When the desk goes up, all the cables have to go with it. If a cable is too short, the plug will be pulled out of the wall socket when the desk is at its highest. The OCCO pro desk has 650 mm of height travel, so the cables need that much slack.
You can keep the cables tidy with OCCO desk accessories. A cable tray and a cable shelf hold the extension lead and power adapters under the top. A cable spine carries the cables from the floor to the desk and moves with it. Before you confirm the layout, check where the sockets are and how many there are. If there are only a few, or the desks will stand in the middle of the room away from the walls, ask an electrician how to get power to the desks.
The manager’s desk and a meeting corner
The manager’s desk can be a different model. Staff desks stay the same, and the manager gets a larger top or a different finish. The catalogue has five height-adjustable executive desks:

Heights for the MDD desks are MDD’s own figures; they are not listed in the catalogue. If meetings are held in the manager’s room or in a corner of the office, add a meeting table to the same enquiry.
Add storage and chairs to the same order
For papers and personal belongings, put a drawer pedestal under the desk. Check the height of the pedestal: the desk must be able to go down to its lowest position without the top touching it. Every desk also needs an office chair.

Delivery: what is in stock and what has to be ordered?
Delivery time depends on the product, the supplier and whether the item is in stock. The exact delivery time is stated in the quote. If your moving date is fixed, ask for a quote early and include the date in your enquiry. You will then see straight away whether everything will arrive before the move, and if something won’t, you can choose an alternative.
Buy or rent?
A growing company often doesn’t know how many people will be working in the office a year from now. FAQ
Can we order more of the same desk later?
Yes, as long as the model is still on sale. Write down the model name, frame colour and top size now, and when you get the quote, ask whether the model will stay in the range. You can then order the same model for a new starter and it will match the others.
How many sockets does one desk need?
Count them up: the desk motor, the computer or dock, each monitor and a phone charger. A workstation with two monitors usually needs five. These sockets come from an extension lead fixed under the desk. Only one cable then runs down from the desk, and the cable spine carries it up and down with the desk.
What should I put in the enquiry?
Four things are enough: how many people you have now and in a year’s time, the floor plan or room dimensions, the moving date, and whether the manager needs a separate desk. If you know where the sockets are, include that too. We will clarify the rest when preparing the quote.
