Silen quiet pods with installation: 13 models, sound classes and prices
A Silen quiet pod is an enclosed pod made in Estonia for open-plan offices. As of 23 September 2026, the OCCO catalogue has 13 Silen pods in three series, for one to eight people, priced from €6,320 to €28,990 + VAT. The new Space Gen 2 series is priced on request. OCCO delivers the pod in one week and arranges installation. Below you will find all the models in one table (dimensions, weight, sound class, price) and advice on choosing.
Three series: Chatbox, Space and Space Gen 2
Every Silen pod has a door, a roof, its own ventilation, lighting and power sockets. The series differ in sound class, mobility and price.

According to the manufacturer, Chatbox is a simpler version of Space: castors are not included as standard, there are fewer customisation options and the noise reduction is slightly lower. This also shows in the price: the single-person Chatbox Single costs €6,320 + VAT in the catalogue, while the single-person Space 1 costs €9,190 + VAT.

Dimensions and sound classes are taken from Silen’s product sheets (Space 07/2026, Chatbox 01 and 04/2026), and prices from the OCCO catalogue as of 23 September 2026, excl. VAT. Weights are from the manufacturer’s product sheets; the catalogue product page may show a slightly different figure.
A single-person pod takes up 1.0 to 1.6 m² of floor space and Space Max about 6.8 m², plus room for the door to open. The largest models weigh over a tonne, so in an older building ask the building manager whether the floor can take the load. According to the manufacturer’s handling manual, there must be at least 15 cm of clear space above the pod for ventilation. Which Silen pod for which kind of work?
Choose a pod based on what it will be used for most often. Going by the manufacturer’s descriptions, the models suit the following uses:
- Calls and video calls on your own: Chatbox Single, Space 1, Space Call.
- Longer focused work on your own: Chatbox Solo, Space 1.5, Space Work. These are 125 to 145 cm wide, with more legroom inside. The manufacturer says Space Work can also be used with your own office chair.
- For two: Chatbox Duo and Space Meet 2, for example for a one-to-one, a job interview or a video call for two.
- Small meetings for up to four: Chatbox Duo Plus and Space 2.
- A meeting room inside the office: Chatbox Quattro for up to six, Space 4 and Space Max for up to eight. Space Max can be ordered with a second door at the back.
Our recommendation: in an office of three to ten people, individual calls cause the most disruption, so the first pod is usually a single-person one. If the pod will often be used to discuss pay, contracts or client matters, choose a class A model: one of the first-generation Space pods or Chatbox Quattro. If two people often need to take separate calls at the same time, two single-person pods are more practical than one two-person pod: two Chatbox Singles cost €12,640 + VAT in total in the catalogue and one Chatbox Duo costs €11,100 + VAT, but only one conversation at a time can take place in the Duo.

How quiet is a Silen pod?
No pod is completely soundproof: according to the manufacturer, that would even be illegal, because a fire alarm must be audible inside the pod too.
The figure to compare is speech level reduction under ISO 23351-1: how many decibels quieter a conversation inside the pod sounds from outside. The pod is given a class based on the result. Class A includes the five first-generation Space models and Chatbox Quattro (30.1 to 31.9 dB); the other Chatboxes are class B (27.3 to 29.4 dB).
The product sheets also give a second figure, outside noise reduction, which is measured on site under ISO 16283-1: 40 dB for Space 1, 43 dB for Space 2, 41 dB for Space Max and 34 dB for Chatbox Single. This figure is higher, so don’t compare it with another pod’s speech level reduction.
According to the Space Gen 2 product sheets, sound insulation certification is still in progress, which is why the table gives no figure or class for Gen 2.
If you are comparing a Silen pod with one from another manufacturer, ask for the figure under the same standard (ISO 23351-1). Words like “soundproof” and “quiet” tell you nothing about sound reduction.
Air, light and power in the pod
Air. According to the manufacturer, each person in a Silen pod gets at least twice the recommended airflow, as long as there are no more people in the pod than the model is designed for. According to the product sheets, the airflow is over 25 l/s for Chatbox Single, at least 27 l/s for Space 1, at least 63.2 l/s for Space 2 and at least 155 l/s for Space Max. In Space, air comes in through the roof and leaves through the floor, so the pod can also be placed in a corner or against a wall. Gen 2 also has a Boost mode for changing the air quickly.
Light. The pod has automatic LED lighting. An occupancy sensor switches the lights off when nobody is inside.
Power. The pod comes with a ready-made electrical system and plugs into an ordinary socket, so separate electrical work is usually not needed. The power cable is 5 m long (4 m on Gen 2). The number of sockets depends on the model: single-person pods have one 230 V socket plus a USB-A and a USB-C port, and the largest have up to four sockets. Extra sockets can be ordered for Gen 2. What you can add
Colours. The standard colours are black and white for Chatbox, and white, light grey and black for Space. Other colours for Chatbox and Space cost extra. Gen 2 has three standard colours, 11 exterior colours in total and three veneers.
Furniture. Depending on the model, you can choose an integrated seat, a bar stool, an electric height-adjustable desk (70 to 115 cm on Space 1) or a sofa (Space Work and Space Meet 2).
Extras. A control panel for lighting and airflow (standard on Gen 2), a face light for video calls, a screen mount, an occupancy light (standard on Gen 2), a coat hook, a CAT6 network socket, frosted glass and, for Chatbox, the Mobility Kit of removable castors.

Silen quiet pods with installation from OCCO

Space Gen 2 has a 5-year warranty, because an electronic Silen installation report is completed when OCCO installs it. Under the manufacturer’s terms, wear parts and electronic parts (such as door seals, LED lights and fans) have a 2-year warranty.

Frequently asked questions
Are Silen pods made in Estonia?
Yes. According to the manufacturer, all Silen products are made in Estonia. Silen was spun off in 2018 from a partition wall manufacturer founded in 1999, and its new factory was completed in 2021. The company is based in Lehmja, Harju County. The manufacturer says Silen pods are sold in almost 60 countries on six continents.
Should I choose Chatbox or Space?
If the pod will be used for confidential calls, choose first-generation Space: all five models are class A under ISO 23351-1, they are on castors and they offer more customisation. The sound class of Space Gen 2 will be known after certification. Chatbox is cheaper, castors can be ordered as an extra, and all Chatboxes except Quattro are class B. The price difference between Chatbox Single and Space 1 in the catalogue is €2,870 excl. VAT.
Can the pod be moved later or taken with us when we move?
Yes. Space pods have hidden castors; on Gen 2 they are activated from inside the pod. For Chatbox, you can order the Mobility Kit. The pod is modular, so for a longer move it can be taken apart and reassembled at the new location. After moving, the pod has to be levelled again. The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover damage caused during relocation.
Does the pod need an electrician?
Usually not. The pod’s electrical system comes ready-made and the pod plugs into an ordinary socket. The power cable is 5 m long (4 m on Gen 2). On Space and Gen 2, the cable can be brought into the pod from above or below. Choose a spot for the pod where the nearest socket is within reach of the cable.
Can you hear the fan inside the pod?
According to the manufacturer, the Chatbox fan noise is 24 dB and the airflow is adjustable. Airflow and lighting can be adjusted from the control panel, which is an optional extra on Chatbox and Space and standard on Gen 2. Ventilation is automatic on all Silen pods; in Space and Chatbox, air comes in through the roof. Gen 2 also has a Boost mode that quickly replaces all the air in the pod.
