Silen Space Gen 2: what’s new and whether to choose it over the first generation
In March 2026 Silen launched Silen Space Gen 2, a range of quiet pods built on a new aluminium structure. The first three models are Space Call for calls, Space Work for longer periods of focused work and Space Meet 2 for meetings between two people. All three are in the OCCO catalogue: with OCCO express delivery the pod reaches you in one week (the manufacturer’s average delivery time is six weeks), and with OCCO installation the warranty is 5 years.
Below you will find the dimensions, weight, power supply and furnishings of the three models, a comparison with the first generation, and what is not yet known about Gen 2.
What’s new in Silen Space Gen 2?
What has changed according to the manufacturer, and what it means for your office:
- Lighter structure. According to the manufacturer, the new aluminium platform makes the pod up to 20% lighter than the previous generation, and some components are up to 50% lighter. The manufacturer says the modules are easy to move in a lift and through tight spaces.
- Castors activated from inside. The first generation also has hidden castors; on Gen 2 they can be activated from inside the pod. This means you can move the pod within the office when the layout changes.
- Control panel as standard. On the first generation it is an optional extra. The panel controls the lighting and ventilation. A light on the outside of the pod shows colleagues that the pod is occupied.
- Boost mode. According to the manufacturer, the airflow is twice what the office standard requires, as on the first generation. The manufacturer says the new Boost mode replaces the air in the pod within seconds, which is useful after a long call. A filter can be fitted to the fan as an optional extra.
- Adjustable lighting. Dimmable LED with preset modes and a colour temperature of 2700 to 5000 K. A face light can be added for video calls.
- Extras can be added later. Extra sockets, a screen mount and a face light do not have to be part of the first order.
- Glass and door. 12 mm laminated safety glass and a door with a magnetic seal.
- Service life and materials. According to the manufacturer, the shell has a service life of at least 20 years, and the aluminium, steel and glass are recyclable. Silen designed the range together with the Estonian industrial design studio Iseasi.
According to the product sheet, Gen 2 is prepared for the installation of a sprinkler, a fire alarm system or a standalone fire suppression system. Ask your building manager whether your building requires this.

How to choose between the models:
- Space Call is the right choice if calls are what mainly disturbs people in your office. The wall-mounted desk and stool are designed for shorter calls or video calls; with the electric desk you can set the desk to the height you need.
- Space Work is 35 cm longer and has a deeper desk. It is for someone who needs an hour or two of quiet to work on a budget or a contract. The manufacturer says your own office chair will also fit.
- Space Meet 2 is for two: a performance review, a job interview or a video call with two people in front of the screen. Gen 2 does not yet have a model for larger groups; the manufacturer says more models are on the way.

What to check in the room first
- A ceiling height of at least 246 cm. The pod is 231 cm high, and the manufacturer’s handling manual requires at least 15 cm of clear space above it for ventilation. Measure the height exactly where the pod will stand, because a suspended ceiling, a beam or a pendant light can take away that margin.
- Power. The Gen 2 power cable is 4 m long and can be brought into the pod from above or below; this is decided at installation. The manufacturer says the pod’s electrical system comes ready and the cable plugs into a standard socket, so check that there is a socket within 4 m of where the pod will stand.
- Floor. The floor must be level and must not flex. Space Meet 2 weighs 556 kg: if the building is old or the floor structure is lightweight, ask your building manager whether the floor can carry it.

Gen 2 or first generation: the models in pairs
First-generation Space pods are still on sale, and their prices are shown in the catalogue. The table places each Gen 2 model next to a first-generation model of similar size and purpose. The pairing is our own, not the manufacturer’s.

What the table shows:
- Each pair takes up almost the same floor area. Gen 2 is 2 cm taller. Space Meet 2 is 11 cm shallower and designed for two, while Space 2 holds up to four people.
- Pair by pair, Gen 2 is 25 to 94 kg lighter. The biggest difference is between Space Meet 2 and Space 2, partly because Meet 2 is smaller.
- Only the first generation has a measured sound figure. Gen 2 does not have a certificate yet.
Our recommendation. Choose the first generation if you want a measured sound class and a catalogue price now, or if the pod has to hold four to eight people (Space 2, Space 4, Space Max). Choose Gen 2 if you prefer a control panel as standard, extras you can add later and a 5-year warranty that does not depend on annual Silen servicing.

How quiet is Space Gen 2?
There is no figure for it yet. The product sheets for all three Gen 2 models (07/2026) say “Certification in process” under sound insulation: according to the manufacturer, certification is under way. That is why we do not give a sound class or decibel figures for Gen 2.
For comparison: first-generation Space pods are class A under ISO 23351-1, with a speech level reduction of 30.1 to 31.9 dB depending on the model. This figure shows by how many decibels a conversation inside the pod is quieter when heard from outside.
The first generation does not include a fully soundproof pod either. The manufacturer explains why: a completely soundproof quiet room would be illegal, because the fire alarm must be audible inside the pod.
If the sound class is decisive for you, ask about the status of the Gen 2 certificate when you request a quote. According to the Gen 2 product sheet, it already has the Indoor Advantage Gold certificate for indoor air quality.
5-year warranty with OCCO installation
Under Silen’s warranty terms (valid from 23 March 2026), Space Gen 2 has a 5-year warranty if Silen’s electronic installation report is completed at installation. The report must be submitted within three months of the pod leaving the factory, and the warranty starts when the report is submitted. Without the report, the warranty is 2 years.
OCCO completes the electronic installation report when it installs the pod, so your Gen 2 has a 5-year warranty and you do not have to keep track of the deadline yourself.
Under the manufacturer’s terms, wear parts and electronic parts (for example LEDs, fans and door seals) have a 2-year warranty from delivery of the part.
The first-generation Space and Chatbox have a 2-year warranty, which OCCO servicing extends to 5 years. Under the manufacturer’s terms, the extension requires annual servicing from the end of the second year. There is no such condition for Gen 2.
Colours, furniture and what to decide now
- Exterior colours. There are 11 exterior colours, of which Chalk White, Charcoal Black and Cotton Grey are the standard colours. There are also three veneers (Natural, Grey and Light Oak) and a textile finish. The interior colour is Cool Beige or Dark Grey. The exterior panels attach with magnets and the covers can be changed later, as on the first generation.
- Door direction. For Space Call and Space Meet 2, you decide when ordering whether the door opens to the left or to the right. This determines whether the pod will fit against a wall or in a corner. For Space Work, state in your enquiry which way the door should open.
- Frosted film. The film sits between the panes of glass and, according to the product sheet, cannot be added or removed later, so decide on it now.
- The rest can wait. Extra sockets, a screen mount and a face light can also be added to Gen 2 later.
- Your own furniture will fit. The manufacturer says you can use your own chair or desk. Check the internal dimensions first: for example, Space Work measures 130 x 104.5 cm inside and is 208 cm high.

Is Space Gen 2 available in Estonia, and how quickly?
Yes. All three models are in the OCCO catalogue, with OCCO express delivery they reach you in one week, and OCCO arranges the installation. OCCO is Silen’s reseller in Estonia. The exact delivery and installation terms are set out in the quote.
How much does Space Gen 2 cost?
In the catalogue, Gen 2 is priced on request, and the price depends on the model and the extras you choose. For comparison: the first-generation counterparts Space 1, Space 1.5 and Space 2 cost €9,190 to €18,590 + VAT in the catalogue (as at 23 September 2026).
Is Gen 2 quieter than the first generation?
That cannot be said yet. According to the manufacturer, sound insulation certification for Gen 2 is under way, while the first generation is measured at class A.
Is there a Gen 2 pod for four or more people?
At the moment there are three models for one or two people; the manufacturer says more models are on the way. Can a Gen 2 pod be moved later?
Yes. The hidden castors are activated from inside the pod, and the manufacturer says the modules are easy to move, including in a lift.
